The Gitte Guide began in my parents' bedroom in California during lockdown, when my mother and I started a book club with two members: me and her. Five years and nine time zones later, the Gitte Guide is an attempt to resurrect the spirit of our book club past.

The concept is simple: either I'd recommend the book to my mom (star), or I would not (X). There is no other rating system, and no stars from 1-5, but at the bottom of each review, I've included a list of other books I think you might enjoy if you liked the one above — regardless of whether I liked it.
